Every October, the spiritual care community comes together to share their story and to celebrate various ministries through Spiritual Care Week. This year, Pacific Health Ministry is pleased to share its story with the launch of a quarterly Words of Encouragement e-book.

From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hawai‘i, Pacific Health Ministry chaplains searched for a way to provide support, positivity and encouragement to improve the morale of hospital staff and patients alike. Their idea:  begin each shift with a word of encouragement. This new practice was so well received, we have compiled the first 90 words in an easy-to-read e-book.

Our Words of Encouragement e-book highlights a different word each day from October 1 through December 31, 2020. Future books are planned.

Spiritual Care Week will take place from October 25-31, 2020. This year’s theme of “Chaplains Complete the Picture” seeks to highlight the invaluable role chaplains play in providing a holistic approach to healthcare. A role that has become even more prominent and important during the pandemic.

We invite you to show your support of Pacific Health Ministry and our community of care. Our Words of Encouragement e-book is free with a minimum suggested donation of $20, which will support our mission to provide the highest quality inter-faith spiritual care to the people of Hawai‘i.

We hope our Words of Encouragement will bring peace, comfort and inspiration.
