Join the celebrations!
As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we take pride in reflecting on our journey, a story that is steeped in significant milestones, triumphs, and the unwavering spirit of those who have made PHM what it is today. We will celebrate with a special event on Friday, November 3, 2023, for pau hana at the Ho’okupu Center.
In the fall of 1987, the Interfaith Ministries of Hawai‘i (IMH) Board of Directors took action to approve the application for the agency to become an accredited CPE center. In February 1988, the Board approved the following Mission Statement:
The mission of Interfaith Ministries of Hawai‘i is to provide a caring, supportive ministry to the community. This is accomplished through the provision of institutional chaplaincy services, community-wide ministries, and clinical pastoral education.

Who We Are
“Kukulu kumuhana” is the process of pooling spiritual, emotional, and psychological strengths of the individual who is ill with that of family, friends, and other concerned individuals to achieve a positive end. With this concept spearheading the mission of Pacific Health Ministry (formerly Interfaith Ministries of Hawai‘i), the organization hoped to be the unifying force that created significant healing value for those involved. Thanks to our staff, students, partner institutions, and Chaplains, this phrase still holds true.
