Pacific Health Ministry Chaplains serving at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center recently blessed a new da Vinci surgical system. The robot, named Ursula by her surgical team, enables surgeons to perform operations through a few small incisions by magnifying the vision system that offers a three-dimensional, high-definition view inside patients’ bodies. Ursula will be used for Urology cases and will eventually expand to Gynecological cases. Typically, PHM Chaplains are asked to administer room and unit blessings, as well as blessing the hands and hearts of staff. This was the first equipment blessing performed at Kaiser. This event was aired in the morning and evening news on KGMB.
